Travel Guide: Thika to Mount Kenya

Thika sits on the main Nairobi–Nanyuki highway, making it one of the closest major towns to Mount Kenya. Residents can reach the Sirimon Gate in under 3 hours, or the Chogoria Gate via Embu in about the same time. With citizen rates and minimal travel costs, Thika-based trekkers enjoy some of the most affordable access to Point Lenana anywhere.

Mount Kenya National Park is managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
